trends for f/w 16

hey lovelies ! here is a few trends for this season and how to style them. Article inspired by WGSN.

Pleated midi skirt -  pleats and bodre fabrics adding structure to styles. Metallics, Lurex and mesh drive a Gucci-inspired air across retailers. Paired with bomber jackets or oversized band hoodies and fur. sneakers or boots depending on the weather. You can either dress it up or down depending on the top you chose !

Embroidery accents - Embroidery originally emerged from Gucci. Usually seen on denim, now retailers are taking a step up and putting them on literally anything: blouse, hoodies, skirts, you name it. Mostly floral/nature inspired embroidery remain the focus.  

with the embroidery come the back details. patches and embroidery focused to the back or the top. With statements or brand names. 

vintage tees - it continues to be important for retailers, but now using different sillouhettes and styling details. Rock band tees are taking most of the place in this category. Mostly on dark grey or black bases adding a boyish edge to the outfits.

metallics - obviously the holiday season is here so shine is the focus. Gold and silver are most important here but retailers put their own twist on the shiny. It's seen on dresses. bodysuits, skirts, anything! 

hem details - We saw hem details first from denim cut at the end. But now retailers are taking a turn and adding step hem, pompoms and different silhouettes.

decorative denim 

Layer a denim jacket or add a thick vintage inspire pair of jeans with some embroidery, patches or color block.

lace layer

Lingerie inspired items have been trendy for a few seasons now, but for winter, layer a lace slip dress over or under a thick sweater, or had a cute lace tank over a long sleeve top

mesh overlay

Add a mesh shirt over a basic tee or wear a long sleeve mesh bodysuit over a cute lace bra

puffy coat

We've seen RiRi wear a bright pink one, really extravagant, but retailers took it to a more commercial level. Wear your puffy jacket with pretty much anything ! The oversized cut makes it easy to layer over all your favorite outfits 

souvenir bomber

If you don't own a bomber, what are you doing with your life???? bomber jackets became a staple last season. for f/w 2016, go for the souvenir style bomber with baseball sleeves, embroidery and a vintage look.Most seen in a satin fabric and/or with quilting. 

cold shoulder sweater

You love your cute cold shoulder crop top from summer? well no worries, they come in sweaters too! don't be scared to be cold with the one from last season, just get a knit and you'll be safe for the colder months

colored faux fur

We knew that faux fur was a statement for accessories&footwear, but now it's becoming one in apparel. Retailers are adding pops of colours adding bright faux fur trims to jackets.

NYFW Review - Yeezy season 4

Hey Lovelies ! 

Its fashion week season YAY ! I'm going to do reviews on fashion weeks. Yesterday (wednesday september 7th 2016) was the yeezy season 4 show, which caused a bit of a drama. We all know Kanye lovessss the attention and to be different, and yesterday def was an attention seeking show. The location of the show wasn't officially release until a few hours before the show, and shuttle buses were running to bring people there because it was at the Roosevelt freedom park and it isn't in the center of NYC. When people got there, you could see models standing in his underwear line which is cool, until they were waiting and standing for hours. I'm not a personal fan on Kanye himself, and this situation made me feel more upset about him. Make girls stand in the sun for hours when it's 85 degress without providing any medical assistance or even water? SELFISH. Just having those models there for a little bit before the show would've made the impact that he wanted enough. Now he just looks bad to the eye of all fashion editors (if you look up reviews, they're horrible). anyway, his collection isn't much different than his previous, he says he wants to make pieces that will be timeless, which is fine. I feel like people like his clothes just because it's Kanye West, because if it would be target or something cheap people wouldn't care I feel. They're overpriced, but I would def wear some of his pieces.
